If you have spent much time with Nora and I, you know that I have a unique way of saying, "you aren't old enough to do that". I prefer to give her an achievable length of time, a life event, when she can expect to be allowed to, for example, drink coffee.
"You can't drink Mommy's coffee. You can have coffee when you are old enough to drive."
Tonight she pointed to my glorious foot cream that Phil got for me and wanted me to let her use it.
I told her, "when you are married and have a baby you are old enough to use that foot cream. In fact, Nora, I will buy you your own bottle when you are married and have your first baby."
Nora replied, "I married"
I asked, "who are you married too?"
Nora: Daddy! (big smile)
I said, "No sweetie, Daddy is married to Mommy."
Nora: I marry Daddy too! (even bigger smile)
Too freakin cute. I hope someday she is able to find someone as wonderful as Phil! Someday a long long long time from now! :)
